Mollie Barnathan, MPH
Certified Postpartum Doula, Co-founder
I am a certified postpartum doula with seven years of experience helping families in the Greater Portland area. I have a Masters in Public Health with a background in global health and community development.
I am also a mom of three young girls. I thrive on efficiency, organization, and early bedtimes. My husband and I get through the day with lots of humor, compassion, and a freezer full of ice cream.
My journey to motherhood included deciding to end two very wanted pregnancies and surviving postpartum depression. You can read more about my experience in my op-ed for the Bangor Daily News. My experiences gave me deep empathy for the emotional and practical complexities of motherhood and have inspired me to help new parents navigate early parenting’s joys and challenges.
I hold certificates from The Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath And Death for “Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss” and “Holding Space for Abortion,” and I was a founding board member of the Maine chapter of Postpartum Support International. I am also infant First Aid and CPR certified.
Katie Ketner, MBA
Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist, Co-founder
For over two decades, I have dedicated myself to helping families locally in Maine and across the country successfully tackle their newborns' sleep challenges. I offer comprehensive guidance and aid—from overnight support to one-on-one sleep consultations—to help families establish healthy, sustainable sleep foundations, ensuring everyone in the household can achieve a good night's rest.
My professional practice is informed by my experience as a seasoned caregiver and mother. This broad spectrum of practical, real-world knowledge is what enables me to effectively connect with and help numerous families navigate the complexities of early parenthood. As a single mother of two, I personally understand the indispensable value of a strong support network, and I am honored to step into that role to help families successfully navigate their earliest days with a newborn.
In addition to my years of hands-on experience, I hold credentials as a certified Newborn Care Specialist and Doula. I maintain specialized certifications in critical areas, including sleep support, breastfeeding, and multiples/preemie care. Furthermore, I am certified in Infant First Aid and CPR, and I am a Carrot-approved provider, demonstrating my commitment to the highest standards of safety and professional care.
